Escort Cards and 5 Weeks To Go!

So with wedding day fast approaching, only 35 days, yes that's 5 weeks away, I have a few DIY things to finish up. First off I listed my house for rent yesterday, and last night, just about 6 hours after signing the management agreement, the property manager called to say someone was interested in renting it. No word yet on whether they are going to take it or not, but I was shocked someone was interested so soon! I have 4 weeks to pack everything up. I need to get on that. Now on to the fun wedding stuff!

My projects for this weekend included dropping off my ring to be redipped so it is nice and shiny for the big day. I ran into a little snag at Helzberg because apparently Tony did not buy the extended care plan on the ring, but the sales guy was so nice and bent some rules and was able to sell me the plan, so now my ering and band can have unlimited replating. Yay! The other big project was to print the vellum covers for the programs. My BFF Jessica got married last weekend in a beautiful ceremony and awesome reception and so she gifted me her extra vellum, so no need to go the store and buy some. All programs now have covers and everything has been printed, now to hole punch them and tie them all together and they will be done!

The other big project was escort cards. With our final count in, and our seating chart done, I could now work on printing the little cards with names and table numbers. At first I was going to print a border around each card to indicate meal choice since we are having a plated dinner, but then the idea came to me to punch a hole in the top of the little tented card and to tie a different ribbon in our colors to indicate meal choice. I tried the think 1/8" ribbon from Michael's, but I was not liking how it came out, so after a short trip back to my favorite craft store, I now had the 1/4" thick ribbon with the scalloped edge. I love the way they turned out. Pink ribbon for beef, green ribbon for chicken, my favorite ribbon from my invitations, white with green flowers, for vegetarian, and this adorable white with pink flowers for kids meals (the 4 kids attending are all little girls, so I thought they'd love it!).

Pink ribbon for Prime Rib

Green Ribbon for the Goat cheese & Spinach stuffed chicken (YUM!! Obviously my choice!)
My favorite ribbon (from my DIY invites) for the Mushroom & Spinach stuffed Crepes

And the adorable pink flower ribbon for our little girls getting kids' meals!
